Splash Pad
Splash Pad + Green Turf Game Area + Playground = SO MUCH FUN!
Construction on The Salvation Army Amphi Corps Community Center Splash Pad broke ground early June 2024.
Years of praying and planning for the development of a splash pad, green turf game area, and a playground to serve the neighborhood, are now coming to fruition before our very eyes.
The project first became possible when a very generous donor stepped up and gave what was needed to start construction. With this funding, the splash pad project began with scoping, planning, and now building – leading to community engagement and outreach sometime in September 2024.
The splash pad will have sprayers, among other water features, and is ideal for smaller or younger children, but anyone is welcome to get in on the fun. The addition of the pad also brings life to an unused area, as well as providing parents or caretakers with another option for aquatic activities besides going to a water location or a traditional pool.
“The splash pad will be a welcome addition to the area, especially during the summer months,” said Captain Brent Church. “Splash pads across Arizona have proven to be popular cooling and water play spots for people of all ages and of various abilities. And you don’t need to be able to swim to enjoy them.”
Two other features in this area will be a covered playground with lots of fun equipment for the kids to play on, as well as a green turf game area with things like tetherball, foursquare, and hopscotch.
The splash pad, playground, and game area are a perfect trifecta for kids and families to utilize while being part of The Salvation Army Amphi Corps Community Center at 218 E. Prince Road, Tucson, AZ 85705. These amenities will be available for program participants when the facility opens.
